Track Miata For Sale

I’m selling my NB Miata. This was my very first dedicated track day car and its been built carefully into something that’s completely reliable, very much at home on the racetrack, but still capable of being driven 250 miles to and from in Texas summers. I do not recommend using it as a daily driver at this point, but you do you. It is 100% street legal, registered and titled in my name.

At asking price I’ll also including a Megasquirt ECU that you may choose to install if you wish. I’ve hooked it up and it appears to work but have not run it. This should unlock the breathing modifications and bring the car up from its current ~115 horsepower to a healthier ~130 and allow you to run at the right end of Nasa’s TT6 class, if you were so inclined. It would also make track days a lot spicier. I decided after buying it to stick with being fully emissions legal, but in many counties and states you could swap this with no hassle.

I purchased the car in 2018 and since then the engine has been refreshed, the suspension completely replaced, its had a new clutch, new exhaust, new wheels and tires (many tires), and a new track-focused interior. It’s not a “new car” per se, but my goal was to build something equally as reliable with very low running costs.

My biggest expense on track is gas (one tank every 90 minutes or so)! Tires comfortably last 20-25 hours on track and a new set is only $600. The GLoc brake pads I prefer are pricy at around $500 for all four corner, but they last for a very long time – I change them out every 18-24 months.

The A/C doesn’t even need a charge – it blows nice and cold! Removing it would save 50 pounds or so, but I’ll leave that decision up to you.

You can see the car at Harris Hill raceway in San Marcos, and I’ll happily take you for a spin out there and/or you can test drive it (respectfully) on the streets nearby. I can bring it up to Austin for serious buyers, and could even deliver it, within reason and for additional consideration.

$11,500 including the MS3; $11,000 without. An additional set of 15×9 wheels in gold with some more worn RS4s is also available. That’s at least $1,000 less than buying all the parts would be, ignoring the cost of the car and hardtop.
